Big Bear II

Feb 16th - 19th - The Boys Distance athletes made a mini-camp retreat to Big Bear to kick off the 2007 track & field season. Saturday morning the guy bounced up Cougar Crest Trip in the cool winter air. There was little snow on the ground , but the climb was abbreviated by some fantastic scenery. That evening the guys revisited the silver mine where they found a number of bats. Sunday the guys chose to hit the slopes during the evening shift. Coach Smith ran from Bear Mountain to the top of SnowSummit to visit with the guys as they got off the chair lifts. Monday morning theguys woke to several inches of fresh powder and enjoyed a morning run on the partically cleared roads and the over ankle deep Towne Trail loop back to the slopes. Man, it doesn't get any better than that!
