Ten Lions traveled to Colorado for the inaugural event over Martin Luther King, Jr Weekend. Lauren Anderson set three OC indoor records and Jennifer Philen added one individual record while Hunter Hays led the boys efforts. Both genders set indoor mile relay records.
Lauren Anderson leaped 5' 1" in the high jump to debut the 2009 season one inch off her personal best mark set at CIF Finals in 2008. She then added a 31' 2" triple jump and a 28.57 2oom. Lauren placed 3rd overall in the HJ and 5th in the TJ. All three marks were OC records for indoors.
Jennifer Philen ran the 60m in 8.84 (OC record) then added a 28.72 200m. Jenny also ran the second leg of mile relay in a OC record time.
Cristina Garcia (6:01.96) and Emily Fuld (6:20.73) circled the 268m track six times for the full mile distance. Later Cristy (2:49.23) and Emily (3:00.20) were joined by Niki MacWhirter (2:47.12) in the three lap 800m. Niki (1:08.5), Jenny (1:08.0), Cristy (1:12.4) and Emily (1:21.3) joined forces in the mile relay OC record run having never been contested in previuosly indoors.
Ryan Huning (5:41.52), Stephen Cooper (5:56.28) and Taylor Losi (6:01.52) for the six lapper mile. Ryan (2:32.70), Stephen (2:32.75) and Taylor (2:50.37) were joined by Hunter Hays (2:07.34) and Charlie Petrie (2:15.25) for the three lap 800m.
Hunter (57.6), Ryan (1:03.5), Stephen (1:04.7) and Charlie (59.8) teamed up for the mile relay. The effort is in OC record for indoors having never been contested previously indoors.
