C Owusu Sets Ventura Record, 4x800 Wins Title

Fri, Apr 27th - Chris Owusu came to do what Marshall (2nd 2006) and Aaron (second 2005) both failed to accomplish, win the VCC title at 100m. Chris not only won the race he made a clear statement as well, "Fastest Man in Ventura History" setting the meet record with a 10.65. Chris now has the OC record at 100m and 400m.
The boys 4x800m team achieved one of its season goals joining Chris Owusu as Ventura County Champions. Justin Sullivan (2:06.6), Hunter Hays 2:06.0), Nick Colarossi (2:08.8) and Ethan Long (2:05.0) ran away with the victory with very little challenge from the compeition. They produced the third fastest time in OC history. The 2005 team also won the 4x800m title, and Justin and Ethan were members of the 2006 team which placed as VCC runner ups.
Malcolm Jones earned All VCC honors with a 3rd in the 100HH and improved his OC record to 15.45. Malcolm also added a OC record in the shot put with improving his PR by nearly three feet to post a 47-4 toss winning the seeded division. Malcolm also grabbed All VCC honors in the 300IH. Jump'n Jeremy Reed set thre PR's with a 20-4.5 long jump, 6-2 high jump and a 44-2 triple jump. He earned All VCC honors in the later. Hunter Hays became the first athlete in OC history to dip under the 10:00 barrier taking the OCR back from Charlie Petrie (10:05).
Lauren Radke vaulted 10-6 to earn her second consecutive VCC runner up and All VCC honors sin the pole vault. Roseanne Fleming also brought home a VCC runner up and All VCC honors placing second in the 800m. Earlier in the night Roseanne led the 4x800m to a 5th place finish, All VCC honors and a OC record. The team included Morgan Temanson (2:48.8), Samantha Roseler (2:31.3), Tina Boskovich (2:38.8) and Rosie running anchor. Rosie and Sam R joined forces with Karli Postel and Catherinw Price for a medal in the 4x400m seeded division. Keiosha Hunt broke her own OC record in the shot put witha near three foot improvement with a 34-1.
