BFS Tally Two More OC Relay Records, BV Equal One Also
As the relay style meets conclude for this season the boys frosh/soph set two more OC BFS relay reocrds. The distance medley team improved on their mark a week earlier and the sprint medley (100-100-200-400) team wrote a new record for the books.
Before the records started falling we led thew day off with a BFS 4x800m which placed 8th overall. Charlie Petrie, Hunter Hays, Ethan Long (season best 2:17.9) and Justin Long.
The BFS 4x100m placed 2nd to Rio Mesa with a 46.2, marking the end to their undefeated streak. Spencer Daly, Flemming Christiansen, Brian Owusu and Corey Ghilarducci comprised the team.
Record #1. The SMR team was led off by Brian Owusu (100m), then Ryan Landseadel (100m) and next Flemming Christiansen hit the half lapper (200m) making the hand off in the lead. Justin Sullivan anchored with a one lapper (400m) in a 53.8 for a heat victory. The boys placed 2nd overall on the day with a 1:41.7 and a new OC BFS school record.
Record #2. Ethan Long led off the DMR with 3 laps in 3:47, and Justin Sullivan circled the oval once for a 55.6 (less than 30 minutes after the SMR). Charlie Petrie ran his second 800m of the day and Hunter Hays closed the deal with the 1600m. The overall time was a 3 second improvement on the record they set the week before. 12:04.0 and a new OC BFS record.
Last for the BFS relay was the 4x400m. Corey Ghilarducci led off in 58.1, Spencer Daly rounded in 58.5, Brian Owusu ran the penultimate leg in 57.6 and Justin Sullivan in 53.6. the team placed 5th overall in 4:47.7.
Record #3. Jeremy Reed popped a 5'10" high jump for the second time in two saturdays. This the third time Jeremy has leaped 5'10" (second time this season). Jeremy tied the record last season held by Max Lowry and Mark Richardson, but Jeremy is the first to clear the mark more than twice.
