BV, BJV Smoke OC Team Time Records
Saturday, September 30th -- The Lions made the annual trek north to the storied Stanford Invitational attempting to build upon recent success. This was the seventh consecutive year that OC has made this memorial journey.
The BJV kicked off the day with their share of OC records. The team time record was cut down to 56:53 (old record 57:59) on the 3k course. Tyler Temanson led the effort when he finished first for the Lions setting the OC record for the 3k distance with a fine 10:51 (old record 11:06 by Trey Riley). David Goeser also dipped under the old record with a 11:03. Greg Sadler (11:21), Nick Matra (11:43), Anders Reimer (11:55), Dylan Bond (12:16) and Scoot Dulgeroff (12:33) completed the team effort.
The GJV established a team time record at the 3k distance. Morgan Temason ran the second fastest time in OC hostory at 3k with a 12:34. Emily Fuld (13:52), Kayla Woo (15:05), Marta Galan (15:33), Sara Caviichioli (15:48), Jenna Smrz (18:12) and Lillian Khosravi (20:06) rounded out the team effort.
The boys varsity placed second in the division 4 race equalling the highest finish by any OC team and best in the D4 race (BV placed 2nd in th D5 race in 2002). But this time the boys team time record slashed by 4:31. Charlie Petrie bettered Kyle BLock's old record at 5k (16:53) to 16:38. Ethan Long's 16:59 ranks him third all time for OC. Mike Colarossi (17:16), Hunter Hays (17:19), Nick Colarossi (17:48), Rafael Garcia (17:55) and Justin Sullivan (18:16) completed the team effort. The boys lost to Carmel of the Central Coast Section by 8 points.
The girls varsity closed out the day for OC. Samanatha Roesler produced the fourth fastest time in OC history for the 5k with a 21:01 knocking 1:07 off of her PR. Emily Fuld, dissatisfied with her 3k effort she ran the 5k in 23:54.
