Tri-Valley League Meet #2

At the end of a hectic homecoming week the cross country teams traveled to Lake Casitas in Ojai, Ca to compete in the second installment of the Tri-Valley League (TVL) meets. The Lake Casitas course is host to the Ojai Invitational (Sep) and the Ventura County Championships (Oct), and it was formerly the site of the previous four Frontier League Finals of which a lot of the OC records were established.

The boys JV started the action. Sorely short-handed the boys faded to a third place team finish. Having placed second in the first TVL meet OC falls into a tie for second with Nordhoff's BJV. Both teams now have a record of 5 wins and 3 losses. Greg led the BJV performers with a 19:35. Nick M 20:27, Dylan H 20:37, Robbie 21:57, Dylan B 22:20 and Kevin 24:45 made the BJV team.

The girls varsity improved their team finish from the previuos TVL meet by placing fourth as a team. Sixth place last time and fourth this time moves them into fifth place and a point from fourth. Rosie led the girls with a 19:41 while Samantha 21:36, Morgan 22:27 (a 0:21 PR), Emily 23:48 (a 4:14 PR), Marta 27:18 and Shaleene 28:24 rounded out the team. In cross country ties are decided by the finish of the 6th runner, Shaleene's finish brokke the 111-111 tie with St Bonaventure.

Boys varsity continued the record-breaking ways by running 86:15 OC Team Time Record (old record: 87:36, 2004). Charlie equaled Kyle Block's OC Record 16:41 placing 2nd overall. Ethan's 16:59 is the #3 time in OC history. Hunter 17:22, Nick 17:35, Rafael 17:38, Justin 18:28 (a 0:25 PR) and Tyler 18:48 (a 0:42 PR) made the BV team.

Girls JV rounded out the day with Kayla 26:02, Sara 26:20, Jenna 32:11 and Lillian 37:39.
